the crucible

wearing: dress from Vero Moda, creepers

On Friday I went to watch a play called "The Crucible" which is the text I am studying for Literature at school. The play was okay I guess, the acting was good but I couldn't help feeling bored somewhere throughout it. After all, The Crucible isn't the type of story I would be interested in. However, the play did gave me a better idea of the plot.

The attire for the play was formal so I wore this lace dress from Vero Moda and creepers. I think the outfit is just nice as it is not too formal or too casual. Overall, it was a really fun day. I had dinner with friends, took loads of polaroids and just had fun.

valentine's day

wearing: sweater from Forever 21, skirt from Forever New, bag from Stradivarius, Aldo espadrilles

Once again it is the 14th of February, Valentine's Day. I would say it is one of the most anticipated celebrations for my school. When I stepped into my classroom this morning, I was welcomed with the sight of people giving chocolates to each other and pink heart shaped balloons placed on everyone's table.

How was your Valentine's Day? Did you spend it with friends or a special someone? I'd love to hear about it!

circle the block

wearing: blouse from Nastygal, black leggings, espadrilles from Aldo

Hey guys! I'm so sorry for being away for 2 weeks! I am back now and I will try to post more often. Anyway, today's outfit is this oversized blouse from Nasty Gal. The unique color block and polka dot design really caught my eye. It can be paired with either jeans/leggings or a skirt but I decided to pair it with black leggings as in all my past outfit posts I had worn either dresses or skirts. For shoes, I wore my navy blue espadrilles to match with the blue colour on the blouse. This outfit is simple yet cute.

Anyway, I created an Instagram account a few weeks ago so do follow me! It's @effyviolet. I'll be posting my outfit photos and also previews of upcoming posts.

bats

wearing: black beanie from H&M, "BATS" tee from Topshop, black skater skirt from Topshop, cross body bag from Stradivarius, Converse high tops

After a long first day of school filled with boring welcome speeches and talks, I reached home to find that my package from Topshop had finally arrived. I had ordered this cute "BATS" graphic tee and black skater skirt. The tee has an oversized cut so it is very airy and comfy to wear. I'm loving the black skater skirt as it can be worn with a lot of different tops depending if you're going for a casual look (like this) or you can also dress it up with a collared blouse and some jewelry. What a versatile piece! You guys will definitely be seeing this skirt in more outfit posts to come. I wore my favourite Converse high tops in off white (which is again another versatile piece that goes with almost anything) and wore a black beanie to give the look a finishing touch. I love how the beanie completes the entire look. I feel that without it, my outfit looks a bit plain. Unfortunately in my photos you're not able to see the beanie clearly because of the lighting. Sorry about that!

Alright then, I have to head to bed soon. Goodnight!

jeremy scott f/w 2012

photos from fashionising.com

Being one of my all-time favourite designers, Jeremy Scott's bold and crazy designs have always caught my eye. I'm loving the rainbow hologram prints and cute graphic sweaters in his F/W 2012 collection, but my favourites will have to be the unicorn dress and Bart Simpson sweater. I recently ordered the sweater for myself online and I can't wait to receive it! What do you guys think of this collection?
